My Day Job is Coming to an End

Well I'm trying to remain positive and see the events that are unfolding as an opportunity to move into and start a new chapter of my life in an RV.  Last week, my co-worker announced his resignation from the company as a new and better opportunity opened up for him.  As a result of this, the owner of the company we work at has decided to wrap up operations in Vancouver and keep his focus on business in the Toronto area.  He will likely seek out a few related businesses here to take over our accounts but in the end my job as it exists will be no more.

I'm not sure when the office will be closed but it could be as soon as the end of this month or some time in September.  So in an effort to put a positive spin on this and realistically this is a positive and an opportunity for me to change careers and perhaps my lifestyle and seek out some risk and adventure.

If anyone reading cares to offer advice or support I certainly appreciate what you have to say and welcome your comments.

To reveal a little more about myself, I am an avid craft's person but have not really fully developed any type of business from what is now simply just a hobby.  However it may fit a life on the road so this where I am at now, exploring how I might sell my crafts on the road.  I make handcrafted greeting cards, handmade bracelets, masquerade ball masks, and another item that is a work in progress, spool-knit toques.

My present RV is small but probably large and capable enough for me to haul around a mobile crafting studio so-to-speak and will easily allow me to slap on some advertising on the exterior so I am my own traveling advertisement for my business.  does this make any sense?

Back in 2004, I registered my business for tax purpose and for a short while made a small amount of money selling my handcrafted cards but as life is I fell away from making cards as money needed to be made so I could support myself.  My business is called "Odds n Ends Scraps & Crafts" and if you clicked on the link you should see a website and see it as a work in progress.  I intend to jazz it up a little and try and make it reflect the mobile lifestyle I expect to be living in the coming months.

So this is where my life is at, at the moment and of course, starting this Friday I'll be doing a little work on the RV and will do my best to keep you all up to date.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks in advance for any comments you may leave.

Happy RVing!
