I am close to making a decision as to how I will proceed in terms of my present employment situation. As I am getting closer to moving into my RV I am leaning ever closer to quitting my present job or bravely asking to laid off. The second option is best and is quite a good decision for the company considering that there is not enough work for one person let alone two. I really do appreciate the work and the income but I feel badly because my employment has no real benefit to the company now nor did it since the day I was hired. The amount of work that is required in this office is suited to a single employee who should be more than capable of handling the volume of work that comes through the door on a daily basis. Some days the phone does not even ring and on more than one occasion the phone has not rung for an entire week. So in my eyes my employment although appreciated by me is an unnecessary expense for the company.
So as the day draws closer for me to to just up and leave as I hop into the the RV and "drive into the sunset" so-to-speak I find myself desiring to pursue more of my own employment interests such selling cards at the local mall near where I live. The community has a large population of retirees and they congregate at this mall so selling handcrafted cards in the mall could be lucrative for me. Not enough to make me rich but at least enough to earn a little bit of money and in a more enjoyable way than sitting at a desk twiddling my thumbs all day.
I am quite eager to get into the RV regardless of what shape it is in as I feel quite strongly that this is more than the right choice for and the right way to go. Choosing this lifestyle feels less like a choice and more like a inevitability. I am drawn to it it ways I cannot yet understand but it is a move I must make and a journey I must take at this stage of my life if I wish in a way that is fitting for the person that I am and the person I am striving to be.
Most of the work to be done to the RV I will do myself so that is not an issue and can be done anywhere for instance and as long as I have al the supplies and tools at my disposal any project I undertake will move forward and be completed regardless of location. It is only the area of the mechanical components that need to be taken care of by a professional so I will move that ahead to the become the first priority after which will come the repair of the roof and elimination of water leaks anywhere in the RV. This will be undertaken most likely somewhere along my travels and quite possibly within the vicinity of Metro Vancouver.
