As my partner and I were looking for a new entertainment centre for the living room I started to think about how I could better utilize what limited space I have in the RV to accommodate more of my possessions that are just too valuable to leave behind. We shopped at IKEA and if you know IKEA you know that they have very many innovative ideas for practically everything one could think about. Since I will not be using the area over the cab as a bed I will utilize it as storage space. Drawers of some kind might work very nicely there. I know that George built a cupboard unit in his over the cab area and it turned out very nicely. George's Story
I am also mentally repairing the roof of the RV. I'm imagining myself repairing the roof so I am more comfortable executing those repairs in reality. When I visited the RV briefly on Friday I took a pretty good look at the size of the rig and the level of intimidation that I was feeling about doing the roof repairs dropped significantly. I also purchased an Eliminator spiral grid 12v starting battery for the rig and got her fired up quite easily. I ran her for several minutes until I noticed that her fuel gauge was reading empty. It was I thought sitting at 1/4 tank but perhaps that was due to a lack of a battery in her for over six months.
I will now purchase and fill a jerry can so I can put some fresh fuel in the rig and start her up again. It is my hope to get her fired up at least a couple of times a month if not more. I am feeling like that the time to move into the RV is fast approaching so I need to get off my butt and get working on the rig.
Something that jumped out at me while visiting the rig was the fact that I can get rid of the valances around a few of the windows in the RV. They stick out too much and I want to change them. I would like the valances to hug the wall a lot more than they do now and after looking at the windows in the bed-over-cab area I know that this is very much possible if I utilize the same curtain track that is used in this area. I will most likely paint or wallpaper the valances rather than cover them with fabric but of course, this is not set in stone if there is a fabric out there that will give it a better look.
Always things to think about and ideas to set into motion. . .
