I visited our RV yesterday and was welcomed by an unexpected surprise. We've had some nasty weather this winter and did that windy weather ever do a number on the tarp covering the RV. The tarp was torn in two and shredded to pieces on the roof of the RV. Needless to say my plans for the afternoon quickly changed and took me way off course as to what I wanted to do.
I spent about 45 minutes to an hour getting the tarp off of the RV and removing the rope from the eyelets of the what was left of the tarp. Then after a thorough investigation I cleaned a few areas where the RV appeared to be leaking and applied a bead of caulk to each of these areas. For the RV being as exposed as she was she has kept the water out pretty darned well. I'll find out in a few weeks as to how my leak prevention caulking application is holding up under all of this winter rain we're getting.
I also cleaned up a little bit inside of the RV and started removing some of the existing framing that once supported the built-in sofa. During my next visit I will remove the rest and hopefully get the new framing installed and ready for the next steps--the storage box beside the bed and the storage box underneath of the bed.
Well that's about all I have to report for now and here's a photo of my, of our little RV:
