We had a great long weekend even with the cool, cloudy, and rainy weather that has been hanging around lately. Sunday and Monday afternoons turned out quite nice sunny and cool, perfect temperatures to enjoy the outdoors without it being overly hot.
Even though the weekend was a good one all around I really wanted to be elsewhere as in my RV. I am quite anxious to start the work on the roof in the coming weeks as June is right around the corner and I will have three weeks without a co-worker so I may, if work remains quiet, just may be able to start and finish repairing the roof and even possibly repair the bed over cab area as a bonus. Would this just not be the greatest thing if I can get it all done just three short weeks.
Next week I will call around a few local shops to see what they carry and have in stock regarding repairing RV roofs and what not and if they carry something comparable to what I like at Camping World they just might get my business if the price is right. Otherwise down to Camping World I go even with having to cross the border to do it.
The sealant I plan to use covers 60 square feet per gallon and if I need at least two coats I may need to purchase about 5 gallons of the sealant to get the job done. In addition to that I also realized I will probably need two rolls of the sealant tape in order to cover all the areas I plan to tape over such as the corners between the roof and walls and the walls themselves. I estimate that when I finish shopping at Camping World if that is where I end up that is I will spend $400-$500 in just a single visit.
Most likely it will jump well above the $500 mark if I also buy a few lights fixtures and other little odds n ends I may find during my little shopping excursion. Add-a-drawer, lights, expandable shower curtain, roof sealant, sealant tape, lap sealant, vent cover or entire vent assembly, new molding inserts, and if I am really anxious to get it, a portable generator that will most likely end up
being a Honeywell just because it is about $400 cheaper than Honda's equivalent.
Edith and Eugene are also quite anxious to get things moving along. Edith is ready to just go and redecorate along the way and well Eugene is so tired of waiting that he is going to stay asleep until something starts to happen. I sure hope Edith can wake him up when that time comes.
I am ready and so anxious that I can hardly stand the wait until next month, next month heck that's next week, I'm biting my nails in nervous anticipation. . .
